HUD Not Displayed and Escape Menu Unresponsive

Steps to Reproduce

1. Entered the Bogs map for the first time after unlocking Clearance 3
2. Melee'd the red explosion mushroom things before entering the starting room to get a weapon
3. Took health and armour damage from the red explosion mushroom things
4. Decided to restart since no progress was made
5. Interacted with the select a weapon option
6. The game did not show the HUD and was 'abandoning' the mission without exiting

Explanation

I was unable to see any HUD, my escape menu didn't seem to be working at all. I could walk through the game (in level) and shoot and interact with an objective point (unsure if I made any progress as I had no HUD). Unclear also if the timer was running or if ammo was being used etc. I had to Alt+F4 to get out of the game, will send log files but unsure if this will help as I just restarted my game to send this.
