Steps to Reproduce

  1. Get into a game with a paintjob on your armor
  2. Fail said mission
  3. View your paintless armor

Explanation

Failing a mission and maybe completeing one (unsure with completion) will cause cosmetics to unequip, specifically armor paintjobs.
