| Actual Result: |
Using the slingshot ability on uneven terrain (stairs/depressions) should result in normal collision or regular movement, not launching the killer into the sky. Canceling the ability by flicking away from a wall should behave normally. Applying the "Hindered" effect to a Survivor must apply the intended movement speed penalty/cooldown to the killer as well. Rotating the camera 90 degrees while strafing (holding A or D) should result in normal walking animations and standard movement speed. The killer's abilities should have proper lag compensation and remain fluid and playable even on moderate ping.
|
| Expected Result: |
Slingshotting on stairs or ground depressions launches the killer extremely high into the air (known as the "Space Ghoul" exploit). Flicking the camera rapidly to the ground causes a bugged "drift" movement. Doing this on a Survivor applies the Hindered status to them while the killer completely bypasses the self-slowdown penalty. Rotating the camera 90 degrees and holding left/right makes the character model slide and glide unnaturally across the ground. The killer's mechanics are far too dependent on latency, becoming extremely clunky, delayed, and unresponsive when playing on moderate to high ping.

Steps to Reproduce
- 1. "Space Ghoul" (Vertical Launch Exploit) Play as The Ghoul and locate an area with uneven terrain (e.g., stairs, s*****, or depressions in the ground). Position the character near the s**** or the depressed ground. Execute the "slingshot" ability directly into the uneven terrain. Observe the character being launched vertically into the air at an extreme, unintended height.
- 2. "Vod Drift" and Unfair Hindered Application Face a wall and aim the character's ability at it. Quickly flick the camera and aim away from the wall, targeting the ground or an ungrappleable surface. Observe the character's movement bugging into a "drift" state. To reproduce the Hindered exploit: Aim the ability at a Survivor and perform the exact same rapid camera flick. Observe the Survivor receiving the Hindered status effect while the Killer suffers zero movement speed penalty or cooldown.
- 90-Degree Camera Sliding Bug Move the character forward in a straight line. Rapidly rotate the camera exactly 90 degrees to the left or right. Simultaneously press and hold the corresponding strafe movement key (A or D). Observe the character model unnaturally sliding or gliding across the ground without playing the proper walking animation.
Explanation
Subject: Bug Report: Multiple Exploits and Ping Issues Regarding The Ghoul
Dear BHVR Development and Support Team,
I am writing to report a series of critical bugs and mechanical exploits regarding the "Ghoul" that are currently negatively impacting the gameplay experience. I have attached a video demonstration for your reference. Below are the specific issues that need to be addressed:
The "Space Ghoul" Exploit:
There is an unintended physics bug where the killer can exploit uneven terrain, specifically stairs, s*****, or depressions in the ground. By using a "slingshot" movement on these specific spots, the character is launched incredibly high into the air. The attached video shows exactly how players are abusing this extreme vertical mobility. The "Vod Drift" and Hindered Application Bug:
This issue occurs when the player aims at a wall and then performs a rapid flick towards the ground or a surface that cannot be grappled/latched onto. This essentially tricks the game's targeting or collision system. Furthermore, while doing this aim trick on a Survivor, it unfairly applies the "Hindered" status effect to the Survivor without applying any expected slow-down penalty to the killer. The video provides a clear visual on how this exploit is executed. The 90-Degree Camera Sliding Bug:
Currently, if a player rotates their camera 90 degrees while simultaneously holding down the left or right directional movement keys (A or D), it causes the character model to slide or glide unnaturally across the ground. This sliding movement bypasses normal locomotion and definitely needs a fix, as shown in the footage.Extreme Ping Dependency:
On a technical level, this character's mechanics are far too heavily reliant on latency. Playing with even slightly high ping makes the gameplay feel incredibly clunky, unresponsive, and unfair to control. It would be greatly appreciated if the team could optimize the network validation for this killer so that the mechanics are much less dependent on having a perfect ping connection.
Thank you for your hard work on Dead by Daylight. I hope the team can look into these issues and implement fixes in an upcoming patch to maintain a fair and balanced environment.
Best regards,
