Explanation
If a player is in a lobby with other players and then, while the lobby is loading, goes to the “Challenges” section (on the left side) and clicks the left button labeled “View Rift Pass,” the player gets stuck on the DBD start screen after clicking “back.” On the right side, the player can still see that they are in the lobby with other players and that everyone is “ready,” but on the left side, the normal start screen is displayed. The game can no longer be closed from this screen, nor can the player leave the “lobby.” Clicking “Back” causes the right side to show again that all players are searching for a game. Clicking “Back” multiple times causes the game to crash. Afterward, the game can no longer be launched, and an error message appears.
The problem probably gets triggered because the player loads into a real lobby in the background while clicking the "back" button at the exact same time. Which can be heard (through the sound indication) in the linked video.
