Explanation
Hello Behaviour Interactive,
I’m experiencing a serious performance issue with Dead by Daylight on PC (Steam).
During a match, Dead by Daylight suddenly starts using much more RAM than before. I have 8 GB of RAM, and I have seen DBD’s memory usage suddenly increase from around 200 MB to around 2 GB. My total system RAM usage can then reach 95–99%.
When this happens, the game completely freezes. My mouse can still move and the audio may continue, but the game itself becomes unresponsive and I cannot continue playing.
This issue seems to have started after the recent Dead by Daylight update and the recent anti-cheat changes. I am not certain that the anti-cheat is the cause, but I wanted to report it because the timing seems related.
PC:
Platform: PC / Steam
RAM: 8 GB
GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1650
The problem occurs during matches
RAM usage suddenly increases significantly
The game then freezes
I can provide screenshots of Task Manager showing Dead by Daylight’s RAM usage and the 95–99% total memory usage if needed.
Please investigate whether there could be a memory leak or RAM-related performance issue with the recent update/anti-cheat changes.
Thank you.
