Revert and Adjust Rifle Recoil and Damage Stats for Balanced Gameplay

Revert/Rework all recoil and rifle stat changes.

  • The reduction in horizontal recoil (shifted to vertical), and increase in spread, has had disastrous results across the board. Every rifle is a beam, the spread is virtually cosmetic.

Proposal:

  • Revert horizontal recoil reduction, keep current or increase vertical recoil. Horizontal recoil is the only consistent means to preventing crossmap beams without shifting balance to rely on RnG gameplay (spread). Klav Damage - Revert to 25 damage - Increase headshot damage - Revert Damage falloff range to original values - Increase RPM fron 650 to 750.

Scarus - Return damage from 34 back to 30 - Return its default mag capacity to 30. (This gun was already good. Its underutilization wasn't indignant of being weak, the buff it got made this weapon overly excellent at everything.)

M4 - Reduce damage from 25 to 20.

Quillin - Return damage to original value - Increase RPM by 100 - Increase headshot damage

For both the M-Taur and Quillin - Implement recoil reduction when crouched.

Notes: The LMG class was under appealing due to its lack of standout value. A recoil reduction when crouched would feed into that support role of suppressive fire with improved accuracy, while adding a layer of risk from being less mobile.

Scarrus appealed less to casual players due to its value being ranged accuracy, most players tend to play closer to the enemy and wouldn't use the weapon to its full potential, in addition to a lower mag capacity and poorer default performance led to a low pickrate. Returning its mag capacity will allow the weapon to be used more by beginner players who would otherwise struggle to grind attachments.

Klav was a decent weapon before its buff to 34 damage but overshadowed by m4. An increase in RPM would've led to more consistent, less dramatic, improvements in performance. An increase in headshot damage would allow it to perform better in the hands of accurate players, offering value without making it a definitive meta pick.

The m4 was the most used weapon before the rifle changes. Its high RPM makes it one of the most forgiving weapons for missed shots. A reduction in damage would allow the weapon to remain consistent, but not as strong as before. Allowing beginner players to get value, without feeling as if new weapon unlocks are downgrades in terms of DPS.
