The Ventura Department of State Hospitals Police Department would act as either a standalone department or a subordinate department of the Ventura Highway Patrol - These officers would have statewide jurisdiction but primarily be around the Mann Memorial Community Hospital and Milano Regional Medical Center. This suggestion comes after multiple shootings at MMCH, and I believe having hospital police would allow time for first responders to arrive. These officers would enforce state laws in and around MMCH and MRMC.
