Enhanced Charges System and Basic Legal Training for Law Enforcement Roles

Suggestion: Comprehensive Reform of Charges & Legal Training Systems

I would like to propose a comprehensive overhaul of the current charges system, alongside the introduction of a basic legal knowledge requirement for law enforcement roles.

At present, there are recurring situations where certain criminal actions cannot be properly prosecuted due to gaps in the existing charge framework. For example, possession of specific illegal weapon modifications (such as a Glock switch) cannot be accurately classified under the current system and must instead be loosely categorized under generalized “contraband” charges, which are limited to only a few volume-based distinctions. This lack of specificity reduces both realism and consistency in roleplay outcomes.

To address this, I suggest a full redesign of the charges system that:

-Expands and specifies criminal offenses more precisely
-Differentiates between types of contraband and weapon modifications
-Aligns charges more closely with realistic criminal law principles

In addition, I strongly recommend implementing a basic criminal law knowledge requirement for all law enforcement roles, particularly for high-authority positions such as VBI agents. These roles inherently carry significant power over civilians and other officers, and therefore require a foundational understanding of legal principles.

Currently, there are frequent instances where individuals in such positions lack essential knowledge in areas including:

-Search and seizure procedures
-Constitutional rights
-Proper evidence handling and charge application

This issue is further compounded when individuals without sufficient maturity or understanding occupy these roles, which can negatively impact both fairness and roleplay quality.

Introducing a structured training or certification system would:

-Improve the overall quality and realism of law enforcement roleplay
-Ensure more consistent and lawful application of charges
-Promote accountability among officers and agents
-Enhance the experience for all players involved

Overall, these changes would significantly benefit the game by creating a more immersive, fair, and professionally structured roleplay environment.
